Echinacea

As part of me ME/CFS recovery program, I take Echinacea and have found that it zaps colds and flu like nothing else.

I take it three weeks on/three weeks off. This is because many research sources recommend this (otherwise it apparently loses it's efficacy). Having said that, I have also read sources that say that you can take it all the time. To err on the side of caution, I prefer to leave a gap (it works so well, I would hate to lose any of its effectiveness).

I take echinacea tablets (by bioforce) - two every morning, for three weeks. Then I take a break for three weeks. If I feel the beginnings of a cold, in addition to taking the tablets, I will drink echinacea tea (100% tea bags - the flavoured ones obviously have less echinacea in them). That I find, usually either zaps it or definitely gets rid of most of it.

There are certain types of people who should not take echinacea so it's worth looking into it some more, or maybe asking your doctor before you take it. Diabetics, for example, are advised against taking it.

That, in addition to Vitamin C, zinc, and Pure Synergy, taken daily, was the reason why the frequency of my colds have gone from one every other day or so, to one every now and then!

I've had two little colds in the past few days because I went overseas to stay with family - that obviously made my system a lot weaker because I hardly ever go out as it is. I took echinacea each time and they went away (I was developing a cold earlier today and the echinacea has succeeded in keeping it at bay once again). But my point is, that I can't actually remember when I had a cold since then! It's been so long that I can't remember! That's a miracle for me because I went through tissue boxes at the speed of light because of the number of colds I had - in fact I spent more days with colds than without them!

You've probably heard of vitamin C and zinc, but the other thing that I think has helped keep my colds at bay is Pure Synergy. You can read my review about Pure Synergy here!

All the best
