ME Association Release: "Campaign to HELP ME WALES"

Campaign to HELP ME WALES

HELP ME WALES in conjunction with The ME Association are launching a campaign to persuade the Welsh Assembly Goverment to provide a ME Service in South West Wales.

At present there is no NHS service for people with ME in Wales. Sufferers are having to travel 200-plus miles for any sort of management or treatment. This is a deplorable situation that can not be allowed to continue.

With the backing of Dr Margery Morgan, Consultant Gynaecologist at Singleton
Hospital, we hope to garner support throughout the region and to present the
petition to Rhodri Morgan in Cardiff on May 12th 2006, ME Awareness Day.

Between now and then, this launch will be followed by press releases, radio
announcements and other methods of gaining support.
