Media Article: 'Brain injury linked to chronic fatigue'

You may have read my recent post (a couple of days ago) about the findings by Australian researchers. Well, Julius, a Sleepydust Emagazine reader, has kindly let me know about another article on this topic:

"New research into chronic fatigue syndrome suggests that it may be caused by temporary brain injuries resulting from a bout of glandular fever. (...)

"It's an injury in the sense that it wasn't there - people were perfectly well - something in the acute phase of the illness went wrong and then it slowly recovers like a broken arm or a broken leg," [Professor Andrew Lloyd, from the University of New South Wales] said."

Thanks Julius for letting me know about this!

Although the title of the article refers to 'chronic fatigue;, the content of the article seems to refer to Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, which is different. Unfortunately, these terms seem to be often used interchangeably (and incorrectly) by the press. To find out more about these two terms, click here!
